WALKING ON HIGH HEELS IS EASIER

A friend of mine recently flew from London to Frankfurt to one of those business woman meetings.

She called me back and said: “I wish you were there! We all set in a nice roomin a perfect 5 star hotel. A real lady billoniar went out and said:

“Forget about your family and friends. Forget about your hobbies and pets. Forget about your style and health and self care. If you want to be succesfull in life, achieve your Goals – concentrate only on the goal!”*

(*summed up in few centencies)

I paused for a moment and said: “Yes. That’s really an omission, that I was not there! I know for sure:

Walking to you Goal on high heals is way more easy, than in sneakers

Research shows: our appearance can influence how people perceive us at first glance.

Here’s a breakdown:

Positive Perceptions:
Attractiveness: Studies suggest people we find attractive are often perceived as more competent, intelligent, and trustworthy https://lnkd.in/exNfTgth. This is likely due to evolutionary biases.

Style and Grooming: People who appear well-groomed and dressed in a way that aligns with social expectations for a situation (e.g., business attire for a job interview) might be perceived as more confident, professional, or put-together.

Negative Perceptions:
Stereotypes: Unfortunately, appearances can trigger stereotypes. Someone with a shaved head and tattoos might be judged as aggressive, while someone dressed in ripped clothes could be seen as careless.

Unconventional Looks: People who don’t conform to mainstream appearance standards might face initial bias. This is unfair, but it can happen.

Important Caveats:
First Impressions Aren’t Everything. These initial judgments based on looks tend to fade away as people get to know you and your personality shines through.

Context Matters: How you’re perceived visually can vary depending on the situation. A rocker look might be fine at a concert but not for a job interview.

It’s a Two-Way Street: We all make judgments based on appearance, so it’s natural for others to do the same to us.

The Bottom Line:

Focus on what you can control: dressing appropriately for the situation, good hygiene, and expressing yourself with confidence.
